Our first child, a girl, was conceived naturally, but subsequent attempts were unsuccessful until IVF. We had only one viable embryo, which implanted successfully, and now we have a little fighter at home.

I always thought I wanted two girls, and our daughter also wished for a sister. Fate, however, sent us a boy. Initially, I had concerns because I was familiar with caring for a girl and thought it would be easier. The opposite turned out to be true. I am incredibly happy and grateful to have a boy, and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. He is a little charmer and mischievous, and our Terezka takes great care of her brother, helps him, and is glad to have a brother.

It is indescribable happiness, love, and gratitude all together. Kryštůfek is very easy-going and a little smiler. Kryštůfek will be five months old on June 5th; time flies incredibly fast.

The birth was very challenging, but the pregnancy went well. Two weeks before the birth, my blood pressure increased, and my fingers swelled, but nothing serious was found. I had high blood pressure up until the birth and for two months afterward, along with headaches. They had to induce labor. In the morning, at 9 o’clock, the nurse gave me a pill, and I didn’t give birth until 6 p.m. The baby kept going back and came out sideways because the umbilical cord kept pulling him back. I value and cherish him all the more now.

Kryštůfek was 49 cm and weighed 3.16 kg at birth. He is fully breastfed and thriving beautifully. Even in the first month, he grew quickly and became quite chubby. He’s a big boy, just like his dad was, though his dad is now slender.
